"Cruising Down the Delaware: Natural History You Can See!" A natural history tour of the Delaware River, taking you downstream from the Valley Ridge to the Marine Bay and introducing you to the natural wonders of this waterway. "Public Artworks in Progress." This is an exhibition of artworks that have been commissioned for state building projects across New Jersey. Created by some of the most respected artists today, including Keith Sonnier, Diana Moore and Stephen Robin. "Crowns: Portraits of Black Women in Church Hats" an exhibit in conjunction with McCarter Theatre's "Crowns," a world-premiere play. Art exhibit at Ellarslie, the Trenton City Museum, located in Cadwalader Park. Call 609-989-3632.

"History River of Leisure: Recreation Along the Delaware River and Bay": An exploration of the recreational history and distinctive popular culture of the Delaware River and Bay, from its early resorts and parks to sporting pastimes of boating, fishing and waterfowl hunting, as well as today's eco-tourism. "Octoberfest" at Trenton First Fridays, 5 p.m.-9 p.m., along the South Warren Street area, rain or shine. This open house brings together city-dwellers and suburbanites in a unique combination of the visual, performing and culinary arts. Area restaurants offer a wide variety of eating experiences from simple meals to elegant dining. After dinner, enjoy smooth jazz, a spoken word reading, or just relax and spend time with friends in one of the downtown bars. Artists and antique dealers will be on hand offering something for the casual browser as well as the astute buyer. Secured parking is offered in the Trenton Commons Lot. Trenton Makes presents First Fridays at 439 S. Broad Street, next to the Urban Word Café. The entire building will be open from 5-9 p.m. featuring 20 + artists studios, creating a range of artistic output that includes painting, sculpture, fiber art, woodworking, audio and visual arts, body art, photography and handmade plush animals.
